![]() ![]() And if that's not enough, the game's attractive graphics and seemingly endless surprises and extras that you will discover every few levels will keep you glued to the screen for that "just one more level" addiction we all know too well. Similar to Tetris (but many times cuter), success in Dynablaster requires both quick decision-making, spotless timing, and good reflexes. What makes Dynablaster (and its console brethren) so addictive is Hudson's masterful balance between arcade and puzzle elements. When you find the exit to the next level, you can enter it as soon as all the enemies are cleared from the screen. You must, however, be careful to not get hit by your own bomb's fire. As outerworldly hero Bomberman, your goal is to drop bombs at the right spots to destroy wall segments and enemies, find extras to increase your bomb's fire-range and the amount of bombs you can drop at once. The game, which has spun off numerous sequels, was a huge hit for Hudson, although as usual this PC version slipped by almost unnoticed by PC gamers. Overall a technically clean version of this old good concept.ĭynablaster is an excellent PC conversion of Hudson's popular PC-Engine arcade/puzzle hybrid Bomberman (although why they had to change the popular name to this obscure title is puzzling). Most blocks in your way can also be blown up and might have some goodies for you that increase the number of bombs you can lay at the same time or the effectiveness (=radius of explosion) of them. So if you manage to block someone between two bombs. Please note that your bomb will also block others. Never heard of bomber-man? You lay a bomb and then you run away hoping your bomb blows up one of the other bomber-men. You bomb your way through several levels to rescue your girl/wife/sister/a princess (?) - I'm not sure - but she's been kidnapped and now you go to blow up some monsters and find your way into the castle where she's being hold prison. It's basically the bomber-man idea with some enhancements. I think you'll find some hours of fun gameplay in this little game. In battle mode (two to four-player), the mission is simply to wipe your opponents from the face of the earth. Each level you collect a power-up and get stronger. You run around in maze-like levels, throwing bombs to blow away objects and monsters, blocking your path. In the one-player mode, the mission is to rescue your sister from a nasty bad guy, and his horde of monsters. This is a very nice little one to four-player battle game. That's pretty much it! Try it out, I bet you'll like it! As for the graphics, as you can see from the screenshots, they are nice and very functional. Apart from the single-player mode, there's also the oh-so-popular head-to-head mode where you can try to outsmart your friend. Those will usually boost your bombs' strength, give you the ability to detonate them when you decide to do so and so on. Sometimes, when you destroy bricks, some power-ups will be left behind. So, basically, what you do in this game is run around levels and place bombs so that you destroy bricks and creatures. To achieve this you will have to complete lots of levels. You will have to reach the dragon's castle in order to save her. ![]() The premise is simple - you are some kind of a Japanese-type character whose girlfriend has been kidnapped by an evil dragon. Having a match of Dyna is a bit like having a sandwich - it can happen any time and any place, it's pleasurable, it's simple, and you just can't get enough of it! Games with a formula like that usually become popular, and Dyna Blaster is no exception. Even school computers had Dyna Blaster installed! It's a game that's perfect for killing time. ![]() Bomberman can move horizontally and vertically and lay down bombs behind him, thus evaporating the enemies, but beware: Bomberman can block himself with his own bomb, and thus become a victim of his own bomb.ĭyna Blaster is a game that was immensely popular. This top-down action-arcade game consists of nine levels per stage, each tougher than the other, and each final one consisting of the boss that will have to be dealt with. Some updates can make Bomberman walk through the walls, increase his speed, and give him some other assets to aid him in his quest to save the woman he loves. The range of Bomberman's bomb explosions can be upgraded with time, but if he dies, the range resets back to the minimum range and Bomberman loses his previous skills. Bomberman's job is to save her, battling the sea of the enemies, with only bombs at his disposal. The black spaceman kidnapped Bomberman's beloved and brought her to his chambers in the castle, far beyond his reach, over the rivers, forest and mountains. ![]()
