In a reasonably short time it failed and supplier replaced but talking to manufacturer we were informed not to use synthetic has it has an infinity for collecting moisture or water so on new replace compressor we went back our non detergent regular oil. In our plant we bought a new compressor that ran 24 hours a day 7 days a week and was furnished with synthetic oil. When we bought an auction sale single stage Quincy for the shop last year, we put the same 0-30 synthetic in it.Ĭhange it once per year. We have used Mobil 1 synthetic 0-30 motor oil in the single stage portable compressor that did double duty as a shop compressor for the last 30 years. Our compressors have to start in an unheated shop at -30 or colder, we used to have problems with cold stiff compressors blowing the fuses / breakers in very cold weather. Finally got a decent air compressor and want to take good care of it. Would any brand air compressor oil work? The book says for warm temperatures to use 30 wt oil and of course their brand. We bought a 2 stage 80 gallon air compressor and it is time to change the oil. Posted 16:43 (#1240658) Subject: What oil do you use in your air compressor? What oil do you use in your air compressor?
